The ball starts rolling again

Today we got to see what life is like in the weatherport with a lot going on.  With Bob and Paul here, our grand total is 12 in the weatherport:  six from TIGER and six from ANITA.  And although it was tight at times, for the most part, it was all right.  With Paul Dowkontt here, we were able to get a few more loose ends tied up.  The circuit that Garry made and tested was incorporated onto the TIGER relay board.  The relay board is one of the most important electronic components in the TIGER instrument.  All of

Paul, Garry and Lauren

TIGER's power comes in through the relay board before getting fanned out to the various components of the instrument.  It is also responsible for turning on and off all of TIGER's electronic systems.
And with Bob here, we have our leader.  Dr. Bob Binns has been doing cosmic-ray physics for many more years than I've been alive and he makes the big decisions about how things will be run.  With him down here on the Ice, the TIGER and ANITA crew will have the final push to get everything done.
After Paul finished making our relay board improvements, he was able to consult with the ANITA crew about finishing up their testing, from the standpoint of an electrical engineer, since their electrical engineer was unable to come down this season.
Tomorrow should be a big day.  We are planning on finishing up with TIGER and hopefully getting the EMI shield reinstalled.  I hesitate to say we might be starting to button up!  See some new pictures.
